Abstract The 3 He spin filter has been developed to use pulsed neutrons effectively at J-PARC MLF. In this study, the was installed in single crystal neutron diffractometer (BL18 SENJU) MLF as a polarizer of incident beam, and Half-polarized diffraction experiments were performed. used ”drop-in cell” method with cells that had relaxation time 150 hours past experiments. sample Heusler Cu 2 MnAl magnetic field 0.3 T. intensities (111) Bragg peaks drastically changed polarity flipping ratio 21.7 3.6 Å observed. experimental setup performance experiment are described detail paper.
